Fall 2010 Schedule now available! DUKE TIP classes offered on Fridays at 6pm this Fall!

OPEN HOUSE on Saturday 10:30am at St. Francis de Sales School - 8100 Roos Road

Giving your child the best education is a priceless treasure. Find the gems and right programs for your child here at Advance Academy. We are enrolling students for weekend and after-school classes, from elementary to high school age. Advance Academy concentrates on improving reading, writing and math skills. Also, we offer excellent art, chess and many other classes.

As parents, we often find ourselves inadequate and unable to help our children during their elementary and high school years. Advance Academy is designed to fill the needs and demands of parents. We help students prepare for the challenges they are face in their daily classes and give them the tools to excel beyond their peers.

We inspire students to improve their English skills and we strive to awaken their interest in math. According to recent surveys and general consensus among fellow parents, the average level of skills in math here in the U.S., has fallen behind that of many other countries, especially asian countries. Part of the problem is that math is not emphasized to children. When it is taught it focuses on theory and simple concepts behind mathematics, but neglects advanced mathematics and practical ability to recognize and apply math in the forms that it appears in life. Too many children who would be able to master mathematics pass by it after only developing basic skills that they don't understand the value of, because they have not been given the right opportunities. We see a lot of parents and students who think that the only value of math is in calculation, and we want them to understand that it is also important as mental exercise. It seems that many schools focus only on passing the TAKS test, and ignore all uses and forms of math not included in this basic test. We believe that math instruction should be held to higher standards.

Mathematics is one of the most important subjects blossoming in the minds of these young students. Our superior teachers will help your child to build a solid foundation, one that will inspire them, creating an environment of excitement and interest in math. We challenge our students with math word problems or logical thinking skills to help them create another view of mathematics beyond memorizing the basics.
